Sólkatla is the first offspring after our wonderful Odur daugther Selma frá Sauðárkróki . She has tremendous positive willingness (9) and good speed in gaits, scoring 9 for tölt at Landsmot 2008 under the “sandstorm”. Odur is known for his ability to pass on superb riding qualities to his offspring, but they are also known to have a difficult character and not so pretty. Selma has a great character and received first class also for conformation –and with her great riding talent (shown as 4 gaiter but she also has pace) she is a most promising breeding mare. Mother, the Hervar daugther Sjöfn was also very talented, but shown after very little training to come in the books. She has already give birth to the first prize winning stallion, Brjánn frá Sauðárkróki, Selma’s full brother.

Sólkatla’s father is one of our favorite stallions Hróður frá Refsstöðum, alredy given us two great breeding mares, Sara fra Saudakroki and Hatid fra Saudakroki. He won the Sleipnir cup at Landsmott 2008 (Hella) and our beautiful daugther sra was showed among his 10 best offspring. Hrodur brings through his pedigree some of the best stallions on Iceland; Kolfinnur, Nattfari, Gáski and Sörli to mention a few!  

We expect a lot from Solkatla when she grows up. She will be stated in 2012.
