101108 Hátíð is now being started at Langholt by Elli and Vidja. She is after this years Sleipnir cup winner Hróður from Refsstöðum and Landsmot winner 2006 Hvíta-Sunna from Sauðárkróki with BLUP 123. And so far she meets the great expectations we have in her with big movements and clear rhythm in bot trot and tölt, strong back steps and soft but strong over line and good and flexible neckline. It will be interesting to follow her when training starts in January.

101108 Háski fra Hamarsey after our 1 prize Keilir daugther Hrund and the great four gaited stallion Krakur fra Blesastadir is happy at Hamarsey together with the other stallion prospects. He is well built and moves very elegantly with strong back steps and lots of movements-like we have seen with many of the Krakur offsprings. His blaze is after grandmother the Kraflar daugther Hrefna (under Hnota fra Stora Hofi)-her two first offspring is already 1 prize so a very promising breding mare. So we strongly believe in Haski and will keep him as a stallion to see how he develops.

291208 Picture of our stallion prospect Alvar fra Hamarsey after famous Alaborg fra Feti and Frakki fra Feti. He has a slm and long neck and loose and good movements with lots of main and tail so we have big hopes for him. Bente Per and Selma at Hamarsey in beginning of December 2008. Selma was fat and happy, pregnant with this years Sleipnir cup winner Hrodur fra Refsstödum. Selma has 8.11 as 4 gaiter with 9 for tölt and willingness. She probably has pace like her full brother the stallion Brjann fra Saudakroki but we decided to put her direct into breeding after this years Landsmot. An Odur daugther with 8 for conformation and a strong and positive character is very valuable to us-no one disagree on Odurs amazing riding talent that he brings so strongly to his offspring-its conformation and character that always is a question mark. Seems like combination of Odur and a Hervar daugther (like mother to Selma) works particularely well....We expect a lot from Selma and she is definately one of our most interesting and naturally talented breeding mares.
291208 Platina our silver dapple orri daugther are going into training at Langholt by Elli and Vidja to be shown this coming spring. There has been a lot of interest in her because she is the only silver dapple Orri daugther in the world-in addition she has big steps and high action -and plenty of pace from her mothers side (Gletta fra Stykkisholmi 9.0, and Ofeigur fra Hvaneiri 9.5) . Fregn is daugther of our beautiful 1 prize breeding mare Fasta fra Hofi ((.16 total, 8.35 for conformation) and Sær fra Bakkeroti. She has a good neck and good movements. Thula fra Nedra Sehli is daugther of a 1 prize mother and orri. There is 50% chance she is a carrier of the silver dapple gene from her mother. She is in training at Pula by Daniel Jonsson-and looked good when we were down and visited her in December. Mother is a Stigur daugther and she gots plenty of willingness and most likely pace.
291298 Hakon is a promising stallion prospect after Alfur and Hatid. He was syndicated right from the beginning because the interest in him was so high. His mother has 10 for tölt and her father 9.5 for tölt and trot ++ so this is indeed a very interesting combination. Haski is also a very promising stallion prospect after the great four gaited stallion Krakur fra Blesastadir (9.5 for tölt) and 1 prize winning Hrund fra Arbæ-a very talented five gaited mare after Keilir Inga and Per with our great breeding mare Gasella that also participated in Landsmott this summer (total 8.21)
281208 Our precious 4-gaited breeding mare Þruma frá Hólshúsum (owned by Hannes, Helgi and Elli) with total score of 8.40 (!) with Bente and to the right of Haakon on secong picture. This handsome stallion foal with the special colour (Þrymur frá Ragnheiðarstöðum) is after Hrodur fra Refsstödum.
281208 Our precious Hrodur daugther, that also was among his presented offsprings at Landsmot when winning the Sleipnir cup, Sara fra Saudakroki is also being stared by Hannes and Inga to be followed up by Vidja and Elli at Langholt. She is so beautiful (9 for head) and such a charming personality in addition to being a great performer. Inga and Hannes will compete on her and Linda this winter before both will be shown at a breeding show this spring (Sara has already 8.26 in total) and then hopefully put into breeding. Both are probably going to Alfur.
281208 Our 4-gaited 5 yrs old mare from Fet, Linda after Sven Hervar and Filipa (innbred after Ofeigur) looked good. She received 2 prize last year with 8.5 all over except 5 for pace and will be trained further by Elli and Vidja to be shown again this spring. A very talented mare from which we expect a lot!
281208 Some pictures of our stallion prospects at Ragnheiðarstaðir. Probably some coming stars among them. Haakon after Hatid (10 for tölt at Landsmot 06) and Alfur was big for his age, long legged and with a particularly light and beautiful confirmation and with very good movements. Will be interesting to follow him-already syndicated and thus owned by many of the best breeders on Iceland. He will receive approx 10 mares already next summer as two yrs old-based on a lottery among his shareholders...
281208 In training at Langholt we also found Kvistur fra Skagastrand son of Hrodur and the famous breeding mare Sunna fra Akranesi. He is a very promising young stallion and looked good-long legged and big with lots of mane and personality. We also intend to use him in addition to Hrodur this coming summer. We already have a very handsome stallion prospect after him and Hvida (owned by our Austrian friends) at Ragnheiðarstaðir
281208 Alfur, the great stallion after alfadis and Orri, belonging to Kristina Lund (probably the most popular stallion at Iceland right now...) looked good and also looks like a strong breeder. His offspring looks very good and bigger than their father. We plan to use Alfur quite extensively on our breeding mares coming spring/summer-and have already one very handsome son after Alfur and Hatid-very attractive and already syndicated (see pictures below).
281208 Bente and I had a great visit to Iceland 12-15 Dec 08. We spent the week-end together with our breeding friends Hannes, Inga and their beautiful daugther Hekla, and visited our breeding at Hamarsey, Ragnheiðarstaðir (Hatid, Thruma and Haakon++),Langholt (Vidja and Elli) , Skeidvellur (Siggi and Lisbeth) and Pufu (Daniel Jonsson) and our stable in Hafnarfjördur where our precious mares Linda fra Feti and Sara fra Saudakroki are being trained by Hannes and Inga to be followed up by Vidja and Elli at Langholt shortly. They are best friends and both looked so good!
141208 Our 1 prize 5 yrs old Odur daugther Selma fra Sauðárkróki in great speed at Landsmot 2008. She got 9 for both tölt and willingness and is currently pregnant with Sleipnir cup winner Hróður fra Refsstöðum. Very interesting combination of breeding lines (pedigree) and two strong individuals behind this newcomer.
241108 Already early on Visa showed special qualities like her great buoyancy- combining power and elasticity... She is one of a kind and I do look forward to follow her further development a lot!
241108 Perhaps my most promising breeding mare prospect outside Iceland, Visa fra Sundsberg (Blup 124) after Isar fra Keldudal and Vaka fra Østeraker is being started by Johanna and Vignir in Sweden. They are really pleased with her. Thus she meets our expectations and is eager to learn. She show great positive willingness and talent for all five gaits and wide steps movements. Here are some pictures taken by Birgitta that visited her a few days ago. I look forward to visit her in beginning of next year when she is put into regular training.
241108 Reykur, our stallion prospect after Adam fra and Under Hvida fra has just finished his starting period by Vidja and Elli at Langholt. He takes after his mother with great leg action and natural talent for tölt and trot. Comments from Hannes following his starting process closely: "Reykur joined Hátíð for a months starting period at Langholt. Elli and Vidja were also very pleased with him, he is a quick learner but most of all they liked his big and high front leg movements. He could be a very promising competition horse. He takes after his mother a lot, Hvida. Big movements and willingness."

She has strong confirmation and an extraordinary pedigree-mother being Hvita Sunna fra S.-Saudakrokir's Landsmot winning mare and father being this years Sleipnir cup winner Hrodur fra R. She is now taking a well deserved rest and will be put back into training in December. I will visit her then and look forward to that a lot meanwhile my breeding companion and co-owner of Hátíð, Hannes sent me the following comment after her starting period: " She finished Hátíð's starting month by showing her to us....wow...they both say, Elli and Vidja, that Hátíð goes in the same genious category as Hátíð frá Úlfsstöðum and Álfur frá Selfossi. She has a lively character but a strong will and determination. Her starting period went fast and secure. She already runs in all gaits (a lot of pace but also very much tölt and the trot is has ability to be amazing (mother Hvita-Sunna has 9,0), with high movements, power in the back legs and good speed.

081008 Alvar fra Hamarsey at our farm in beg of October. He is tall and well buildt with lots of main and tail, long legged and with particularely good neck. He is after the famous Alaborg fra Feti -on of the best Orri daugthers out there and stallion Frakki fra Feti. A very interesting stallion prospect with loose high movements

081009 New horse, Linda fra Feti, 5 yrs after the Orri son Sveinn-Hervar and Filipa fra Feti that is a very interesting inbreed out of Ofeigur. Linda is a 4.5 gaiter and has so far been shown as a 4 gaiter. Her strength is a good positive willingness combined with big soft movements and lots of speed in both trot and tölt. She will receive further training at Langholt (by Vidja and Erlingur) this coming spring to be shown again coming summer (09). We believe she will eventually be a very interesting breeding mare, but plan to compete with her the coming year. Sara and Inga have competed with great success this autumn after her Landsmot appearance. She will receive further training this coming spring and we plan to show her again next summer/spring to allow her to show her big talent for all 5 gaits-particularly tölt is so strong.
We sent six of our 1 pr breeding mares to stallions this year and all of them is now confirmed pregnant with ultrasound. Here is some interesting combinations. Þruma frá Hólshúsum is among the highest judged 4 gaiters in the world (8.40 total) and received 9.5 for tölt and the qualities of the orri son Alfur should be well known -also receiving 9.5 for tölt. Gasella receiving 9 for both pace and form under rider at this years Landsmot and Gustur winning the tölt competition should be very interesting as well. Selma scored 9 for both tölt and willingness at landsmot and hrodur win the Sleipnir cup-one of my absolute favorite stallions at Iceland right now. Hatid scored 10 for tölt at last landsmot and Gaumur won the stallion class /yrs + and was one of the biggest stars on this years Landsmot receiving 9.05 for riding. The Keilir daugther Hrund and Alaborg (3'd in the 4 yrs class at Landsmot 2004) is pregnant with the Landsmot winner Aron (beat Sær by an inch...) The great 4-gaited breeding mare Hvida receiving a lot of attention at Landsmot in 98 with her high movements (9 for tölt, 9 for gallopp, 9.5 for temperament and 9 for general impression was sent to the great stallion and tölter Audur fra L. She is owned by som Austrian friends of Hannes and we swifted mares to introduse some more diversity into our breeding and they bred our own Vakning fra Asi to Thoroddur in exchange. New horse. Röskva fra Saudakroki after Hattur fra Thufum under Sletta fra Saudakroki (u Hervör, e Angi). Röskva is only two years old and is beautifully built.
Mother of Röskva is Sletta fra Saudakroki with 9 for neck/shoulders and famous parents, Hervör and Angi. Father of Röskva, Hattur is one of Mette Manseth's most promising young stallions, scoring 8.44 total score as 6 yrs old. He has all five gaits equally strong and with a beautiful confirmation (8.58) and very nice expression.
