Visit to Lian at Tynset sept 08. Visiting Stein and Camilla and following up on stallion prospect Ljomi fra Sundsberg that received three good mares this summer and is now being put into training by Camilla M Haavig to be shown hopefully this coming summer. Hugur has calmed down after he was castrated earlier this year and look good and tölt comes very easy for him.

The young promising mare Litla mari fra Håkansgården (3 yrs) after Askur and the great mare Heiddis från Fallan looks good and is about to be started by Camilla.
Litla Mari

Thanks to Stein and Camilla for a great visit at their beautiful farm offering such good surroundings in which to grow up.
Hugur at Lian
Hugur
Sleipnir cup winner at Landsmot 2008 for best stallion judged by its offspring was Hrodur fra Refsstödum, owned by "our own" Mette Manseth. He was presented with his 10 best offspring and among these our own Sara
from Saudakroki was chosen. Sara is a young and very talented mare after Sunna fra Saudakroki and is number three from the left with Vidja in the saddle-to the right Mette lifting her trophy. Sara now get a well-deserved rest after training and competitions. Although she scored 8.25 in total this year she is still very young and we expect a lot from her next year. Thanks to Elli and Vidja that has put so much effort into her!

We had three mares qualified for Landsmot this year; Selma, 5 yrs 8.1 as fourgaiter,  Sara 6 yrs, 8.25 and Gasella, 7 yrs, 8.21. Sara is in further training, Gasella is pregnant with Audur from Lundum (Landsmot winner i

2006) adn Selma is pregnant with Hrodur. Moreover, Fasta (8.16) is by Krummi fra Blesastadir, both 1 prize mares Hrund and Alaborg (third at Landsmot 2004) is preganat with Aron and Vakning is by Thoroddur-so a lot to look forward to next summer. Platina, Phula, Linda, Garun, Gnipa and Hatid is in training to be shown next year.

In Sweden Katla is by Askur and hopefully Vignir will be able to show her later this autumn and Visa från Sundsberg (blup124 after Isar and Katla) will be started by Vignir now in september, the same will Litla Mari by Camilla Mood Haavik in Norway. Both have great pedigree and looks good!

Ljomi is also in training in Norway (at Lian by Camilla Mood Haavik)-my palmino stallion after Askur and he will serve three or four mares this autumn. He looks good and we will show him next spring. Hugur is also in training and he has calmed down after being castrated this spring. He is a great personality and sooo handsome-but a little sensitive. Martha did a great job with him at Herresta and earned his trust! Thanks.

Camilla trying Selma, the day after Landsmot, getteing instructions from Hannes-she was very hot (getting 9 for willingness and 9 for tölt) -and I guess asomething Camilla will nevber forget.....

Me and my family (Bente, Camilla, Alexander and Hannibal) visiting our breeding farm Hamarsey, just south of Selfoss. Looking at our horses in the horizan-on their way to get water.

Camilla and Selma-our five year old Odur daugther that represented our breeding farm at Iceland (www.hamarsey.is) and got 9 for tölt and 9 for willingness -a great mare that is no pregnant with Hrodur.
Hrund with Hausky, her stallion foal born during the earth quake at Selfoss this summer.
Breeding show at Hafnarfjördur 9-13/6-08.

Three out of five of our horses qualified for Landsmot this week and big thanks to Hannes and Inga for excellent preparations and thanks to trainers and riders, Elli, Daniel and Siggi Matt in particular, showing
respective: Sara fra Saudakroki, Gasella fra Gardse and Selma fra Saudakroki.

Sara scored 9 for head and 8.5 for neck, legs, mane, tölt spirit and general impression; 8.22 for conformation,8.28 for riding, total 8.25. Sara is going to competitions the coming year. Gasella scored 9 for pace and spirit and 8.5 for head, neck and legs; 8.11 for conformation and 8.28 for riding, total 8.21. Gasella is put into breeding and goes to Alfur this week-end.

Selma that is only five years old scored 9 for tölt and spirit, 8.5 for head, hooves, trot and general impression; conformation 8.02, riding 8.15, total 8.10 as a 4 -gaiter. Selma has pace like her full brother the stallion Brjann fra Saudakroki, but still she prefers tölt that is so fast so she needs more strength to carry her pace. Selma is pregnant with Hrodur Since all three qualified on first presentation we decided to drop overview for all of them and concentrate on saving energy and prepare for Landsmot.

We are very proud of these horses, that we believe will be very valuable for our breeding at Hamarsey (for more update see: www.hamarsey.is )

Our two 4 year old orri daugthers Platina and Thula need more time to develop their riding talents. Both got a decent confirmation score (7.93) with room for some improvement and both have pace so we are very
pleased with that. Platina will be taken to the young and talented Hrodur son Kvistur fra Skagastrand and Thula will be trained for another year. Photos from the event come later.

May 25. Vakning has been brought south for further breeding and to prepare her for the breeding show in Hafnarfjördur where Siggi Matt will show her. She already got 1 prize, but we try to qualify her for Landsmot and raise her judgment. She has been successfully trained and competed on for the last 1-1.5 year by Raggi and Sandra Marin in Aukreri. Big thanks to both of them for taking so good care of her and providing excellent training facilities.

Platina
May 13. Platina out running. In preparation by Sigursteinn before the breeding show in Hafnarfjördur next week. She is very fit and with good  leg action and acceptable speed for a 4 yrs old -hopefully she will also
come through with pace. Its there but we have "left it alone" to concentrate on tölt and trot.

Hannes tried Vakning for the first time in competition this week end in Hafnarfjördur and won the A-flokk competition (for non-professionals) with 8.33. Although she was shooed for the breeding show to come June
12, she did great! Hannes also won B-flokkur with his four gaited competition horse Fjölnir fra Brekkum -so a great week-end for Hannes. Congratulations!

Thordur on Thula, my 4 yrs old Orri daugther to be shown in Hafnarfjördur next week. Thula is a 5 gaiter with good gaits, pace seems pretty open and she has a lot of power and willingness.

May 29'th. Hrund got a handsome little guy during the earth quake at Selfoss. Luckily everything went good with her and the little stallion looks fine, black with a broad white blaze. The latter was a surprize ,
but probably from her mother Hrefna that has a small white bliz

1 day old Gnott fra Hamarsey, under Gnipa fra Holum(daugther of two landsmot winners) and Stali fra Kjarri already showing great movements and lots of pace....

Thursday May 8
Yesterday our 1 prize mare Fasta fra Hofi delivered a healthy mare foal at Hamarsey. She is fux, like her mother. Father is the Sær fra Bakkeroti-one of the strongest young stallions on Iceland. We expect a
foal after Gnipa fra Holum shortly and will come back with more pictures to follow these youngsters. Photo: Hannes
