We have taken our breeding mares to the following stallions this summer:

Þruma frá Hólshúsum to Kvistur frá Skagaströnd
Þula frá Neðra-Seli  to Krákur frá Blesastöðum
Vakning frá Ási to Fróði frá Staðartungu
Garún frá Sauðárkróki to Glymur frá Innri-Skeljabrekku
Fasta frá Hofi  to Álfur frá Selfossi
Glóð frá Árbæ to Hróður frá Refsstöðum
Álaborg frá Feti to Hróður frá Refsstöðum
Selma frá Sauðárkróki to Hákon frá Ragnheiðarstöðum
Gnípa frá Hólum  to Álfur frá Selfossi
Hrund fra Arbæ to Álfur frá Selfossi (Birgitta and Anna Breeds her)
Platina fra Holtsmula to Kvistur frá Skagaströnd

Platina fra Holtsmula was shown June 8 by Jacob Sigurdsson. She did well considering her young age and went to 2 class overall (7.80). Platina has a very special color being the only silver dapple Orri daugther, and most likely she is also carrying the palmino gene! Thus with a very strong pedigree she will become a very precious breeding mare. She has big movements and lots of pace as well so she should be a shore bet for first prize if shown again after gaining a year or two and some more strength. I am considering to bring her home to Norway and breed her myself, but I will sell her if I get the right of
fer from the right
person. She stands out from any crowd with her big white mane and silver dapple color-big with a long and good neck.

My precious Visa fra Sundsberg that I bought as a 1 yrs old marefoal after having seen her and her beautiful mother Vaka fra Österaker (later Sweden's WC horse), was shown in Waangen June 9'th this year. She has been trained by Vignir that also showed her and she really came through for us scoring total 8.15 only 4 yrs old. Highest scoring 4 yrs old mare in Sweden this year together with Birgitta's Gidja. And Visa with blup 124 before the show proves to become an amazing five gaiter-equally strong in all 5 gaits and with conformation score 4 yrs old of 8.26! Visa will stay in training by Vignir for another year to be shown again and the taken to Garri fra Reykjavik if all goes well. As I had hoped for Visa will become my core breeding mare outside Iceland and I am very thankful to Vignir for successfully training and showing her and to Birgitta for letting me buy this precious foal in the first place and for our close collaboration and great friendship ever since. We also hold several precious mares together and will hopefully work even closer
together in the future.

I have bought the last half of my perhaps most precious breeding mare Alaborg fra Feti (8.25 4 yrs old and 3 place at Landsmot) including her first offspring Hamborg fra Feti (e. Stíganda frá Leysingjastöðum). She looks very good and is currently in training by Elli and Vidja at Langholt. This means that I own three offspring after Alaborg (Hamborg (e Stigandi), Alvar( e Frakki) and Anna (e. Aron) enabeling me to build
this great breeding mare.
AlvarHamborg

In addition I bought the last half of Fasta fra Hofi (8.16) from Jon and Eline. She looks like she will become a very strong breeder with good necks and strong riding qualities after her father Numi.I have currently
two offspring after her; Fregn after Sær fra Bakkeroti and Frost after Krummi fra Blesastadir). Fasta is currently by Alfur.

In addition Hannes, Inga and I have bought two beautiful daugther of the young promising stallion Hattur fra Thufum belonging to Mette Manseth and Gisli ( 8.44 6 yrs old). Both from Gudmundur at Saudakrokir. Hugmynd is after one of his best breeding mares Vidja fra Saudakroki (a. Otur and Ösp) and will be started by Mette Manset this winter. Röskva is after Sletta fra Saudakroki (a. Angi and Hervör)-so both comes with excellet pedigree. Hugmynd seems to have the better movements-but Röskva is particularely well built and aiming for a high conformation score.

In adition Brana fra Blesastadir will be stared by Elli and Vidja this winter. She belongs to Birgitta and myself and holds great promise.

Among the boys reykur is attending nuemrous mares, the same with Hakon, including our own Selma fra Saudakriki. Håkon, Prymur and Alvar will be stated next winter.

Our precious 1. prize breeding mare Vakning fra Asi has acchieved great results on the competition track this spring/summer autumn, winning many competitions. She is after the famous Galsi fra Saudakroki after
legendary honor award receiving breeding mare Vaka fra Asi both with very strong pace and excellent five gaiters. Vakning has received 7.75 in pace competition, 7.89 on 100 m pace and very strong results in five gait with breeding partner Hannes in the saddle.

We have received many beautiful foals at Iceland this year, including:
1. Grettir frá Hamarsey - IS2009182312 under our 1 pr mare Gasella frá Garðsá  and Gustur frá Lækjarbakka
2. Hervar frá Hamarsey - IS2009182311 under our 1 pr mare Hrund frá Árbæ and Aron frá Strandarhöfði
3. Sólkatla frá Hamarsey - IS2009282310 under our 1 pr mare Selma frá Sauðárkróki and Hróður frá Refsstöðum
4. Harka frá Hamarsey - IS2009282313 under 1 pr mare Hátíð frá Úlfsstöðum  and Gaumur frá Auðsholtshjáleigu
5. NN fra Hamarsey under 1 pr mare Hviða frá Ingólfshvoli and Auður frá Lundum
6. Anna fra Hamarsey under 1 pr mare Alaborg fra Feti and Aron frá Strandarhöfði (no picture yet).
7. Frosti fra Hamarsey under 1 pr mare Fasta fra Hofi and Krummi fra Blesastadir

Our handsome palmino stallion after Askur and 1 prize Atli daugther Dama fra Örvik Ljomi fra Sundsberg has also been shown this summer. He got his first mares at Lian last year and Camilla Havik subsequently trained and shown him this summer. Ljomi got 8 for conformation but had a bad day at the riding field and was not able to show what he is good for (7.7), amongst others five clear good gaits including a strong pace. Ljomi will be further trained this winter by Sigurstein Sumarlien at Lian and will be shown again coming spring.

Katla fra Holtsmula, my black beautiful orri daugther (8.28 in conformation) also came through for us this year at Strömsholm, June 24, reaching 1 class. She is after the 1 class Toppur daugther Vera fra
Holtsmula (with 8.30 for riding score!) and thus has a very strong pedigree. Katla is now pregnant with Isar fra Keldudal ( to strengthen her trot and pace) and will be brought home to Norway and become our
(Ivar Lindstad and myself) prime breeding mare at Torstad (www. torstad.no). I look forward to work closely with her and her offspring in the future and Katla will also become my daughter Camilla's
riding/competition horse. Orri is the strongest stallion in the world with more than 100 1 prize offspring! The strongest of these offspring often show talent very early -and receive 9 for gallop 4 yrs old (a sign
of willingness and later speed in gaits)- and our Katla is one of them. Thanks to Hinni for training her and letting me buy her, to Johanna for further developing this horse and to Vignir for the last training part
and for showing her with such success. And Birgitta for taking Katla home to her farm until we can bring her to Norway (She is pregnant and I want the pregnancy to be settle for 60 days before such a long
transport.

Garun fra Saudakroki has been by Magnus and Svanny at Holtsmula. She has a lot of willingness and is not yet strong enough to carry that through into good gaits so she was shown only for conformation June 2 and got 8.34, with amazing 9 for neck and 8.5 for back and hooves. She is a beauty! and the pedigree does'nt come much stronger with the legendary Gnott fra Saudakroki as mother (mother to Galsi and Glymur ++) and Gari fra A as father-honors award winning stallion with the highest conformation score on Iceland until now. We own Garun together with Gudmundur at Saudakroki-that was not willing to sell her to us
altogether....Garun is for sale if the right buyer turns up-hopefully an experienced rider and serious breeder-she is first class breeding material!

Our "black beauty" Linda fra Feti on Iceland after Sveinn Hervar went to 1 class (8.04)as 4 gaiter with 9 for trot, spirit and general impression-on a bad day...! Lindas mother Filipia fra Feti and inbred of
Ofeigur fra Flugumuri got 8.24 in riding skills as 4 yrs old! so definately had inhereded Ofeigurs extreme riding talent and passed that on to Linda. Last time I saw Elli showing her to me (in april 09) she
was going  9 in tölt and 9.5 in trot. Hannes has been competing on her in 4 gaits very successfully this summer/autumn and after a well deserved rest she will go back into training with Elli aiming at
Landsmot next year. Together with our Hrodur daughter Sara fra Saudakroki, also competing with great success this summer with Inga in the saddle. I watched them coming third in A final in Sörlimot winning
the slow tölt par of the competition -before famous riders like Siggi Mat. Linda will be shown among Sveinn Hervar's best offspring on next years Landsmot, like Sara did with Hrodur last year when he won the
Sleipnir cup.

Results from our horses being shown in breeding shows this spring:
Gnipa fra Holum was shown by Thordur Thorgeirsson May 25 and received 1 prize for building 8.11, including 9.5 for hooves! and 2 prize for riding, overall 7.87. Gnipa is pregnant with Alfur fra Selfossi. gnipa
is a very interesting breeding mare, big black and beautiful and with an extremely strong pedigree-both parents being Landsmot winners (mother is the Kolfinnur daughter Pula fra Holum that won Landsmot in 2000 with total score 8.46! and father is the famous Orri son Nagali fra Thufu with 8.44! as four gaiter in 2002, also doing great in competitions in Germany and foundation of the Kvistir breeding farm on Iceland. We are considering selling Gnipa if we get the right offer and the right person to buy her. She has big movements and strong positive willingness and is also very nice to handle on the ground (not unimportant when breeding her).Gnipa got a beautiful marefoal after Landsmot winner Stali fra Kjarri (total 8.76!) with exceptional movements; Gnott fra Hamarsey that could follow if the buyer wants to bring forward every offspring of his breeding mare to build her the proper way. Both Gnipa and Gnott is situated on Iceland  on our farm there Hamarsey (ref. www. hamarsey.is)
