Pdf for the horse

I have been admiring these beautiful Hólum mares for some time, dreaming of getting one for my breeding. They are just so beautiful and proud –a word that Eline (Manon Schrijver) at Hofi used on them and that captures these special horses so good. First of all, big thanks to Eline and Jon at Hofi for letting me buy Gnipa and making my dream come through. She is a five year old mare started at the Holar school when she was 3 and ˝ and subsequently ridden for 8 weeks when she was 4. She is very well raised with a rather short and thick neck; typical Orri characteristics, her father being the famous Orri son Nagli Ţúfu. But first of all she is out of the famous mare Ţula fra Hólum.  She won the Landsmot in 2000, receiving a total score of 8.48, 8.11 for composition and 8.69 for riding skills. Ţula is after the amazing honours award winning stallion Kolfinnur fra Kjarnholtum that is famous for his big movements and high lifts and received 9 for tölt and trot and 9.5 for pace. Kolfinnur is son of Hrafn fra Holtsmúla, perhaps the most influencial stallion on Iceland through all times and the honours award winning breeding mare Glókolla fra Kjarnholtum.  Ţula's mother and Gnípa’s grandmother is the famous Ţóra fra Hólum. She has earned an honours award having produced five 1. prize offspring out of eight, the last 3 received a good 2. prize! Ţóra’s mother, Ţrá fra Hólum, was a beauty and celebrated on Iceland putting the Holar name on the map. She received a total score of 8.48 with 8.5 for building and 8.45 for riding skills in 1982, only four years old-best ever!  Ţrá is after the breeding matador Ţáttur fra Kirkjubć out of  Ţerna fra Kolkuósi  with the influential honours award winning stallion Hörđur fra Kolkuósi as grandfather. So there is  strong bloodlines on both sides behind these famous Holar mares!

Back to Gnípa’s father, the young and promising four-gaited stallion Nagli Ţúfu. He became famous at Landsmót in Víđidal, where he as only a four year old became one of the highest scoring four-gaiters ever. Two years later at the age of six he scored amazing 9 for tölt, trot, spirit, general impression and 9.5 for canter, and proved himself  "a true" Orri son. Orri's pedigree should be well- known, descending from honours award winning horses like Otur Sauđárkróki, Hrafn fra Holtsmúla, Hervar fra Sauđárkróki, Hrafnkatla fra Sauđárkróki, Hervör fra Sauđárkróki, Sörli fra Sauđárkróki,  Adam fra Međalfelli and Síđa fra Sauđárkróki. Nagli’s mother is out of the famous honours award winning breeding mare Rák fra Ţúfu, five of her seven offspring have received 1 prize, the last two a good 2 prize! She is after the Hravn son Kolskeggur.

I expect a lot from my Holar mare Gnípa, combining Kolfinnur and Orri bloodlines, with a typical four-gaiter as her father and one of the best five-gaiters ever on her mother’s side. Gnipa is clearly a five-gaiter, and Eline will train her until January next year, then leaving her to Erlingur for some intensive training and subsequently presentation early spring. I hope to be able to use her for breeding already next year, depending of her scores of course, but have not decided on which stallion to use yet. Perhaps Keilir or one of his sons (Dalvar for instance) could be a  good match, I have to study her closer first.
